INTRODUCTION
Take 3 #'s of persons, Envy, Lust and Vengeance.
Add in a pinch of Judgement and Irony.
Envy sits in the corner quiet and never says a word.
When asked and pressured
for an opinion will stare through you with half opened eyes
and a dry throat will say...
alright then.
Lust is in the middle.
One leg on each party.
Showing off in whorehouse dresses, pink boas
and dyed leather boots.
And in the confusion of Lust's dancing,
Vengeance stands up, calm and collected to
claim his throne.
The door burts open and there stands Judgement who is
Vengeance's ugly cousin
that nobody likes. Now get the real story...
Judgement is in love with Lust.
Lust is involved with Vengeance.
Envy waits for Vengeance to come.
Judgement knelt down to Lust on one knee
and said "Everybody Knows."
The lethal combination of Envy and Vengeance laid
Judgement in it's grave.
Then Irony arrives fashionably late...
Enters....
And says...
"Finally!!!"
TRAVELIN' ON
Tell me how long baby
Are you gonna be mad
The way folks been treatin' me
Ya know it turns a good man bad
But I got the lord
And a new dawn
I guess I can't stay here
I best be travelin' on
You spun me in circles
Drove me outta my head
Left me waitin' wonderin'
Wishin' that I was dead
But I got the lord
And a new dawn
There's no time to lose
I best be travelin' on
I can't walk the streets
Without watching my back
Seems like all the time
People are always on the attack
But I got the lord
And a new dawn
They're gonna kill me here
I best be travelin' on
A LONELY MILE
At dawn I watched her dreamin'
And her dreams made me smile
Just to know what she was thinkin'
I'd walk a lonely mile
God bless her silent virtue
And her dark curly hair
And as I was greeting the morning dew
I saw her standing there
She took me by the lake and
Said come with me and see
She whispered sweet as we laid in the sand
Oh please make love to me
LOOK O'ER YONDER
Look o'er yonder n tell me what you see
Look o're yonder and tell me what you want me to be
While your standing around looking out of place and confused
I'll be out o'er yonder and I'll be laughing and abused
At the thought that you even dared to show your face again
For back in the time of my trial before all of this did begin
Reaching back far past the cobwebs that have clouded up yer mind
And the further back you go you'll see it all start to unwind
Take a minute catch your breath get out all of your words in a row
Tell me what is your plan?
Where are you planning to go?
Look over yonder with your eyes so blue
Tell me what you see
Tell me what you saw
Tell me who you want me to be
But now the tables turned and the ashtrays on the floor
And the record players crying I don't hurt anymore
You can sing me any story you please but I'll know it to be lies
And your purple velvet scarf's nice but fails to hide your serpents eyes
You left me to wander in the mountains blue
Now look o'er yonder before the night is through
BIG ROAD-A-COMIN'
I got my eyes on the road
Got my eyes on the road ahead
The peddles down and I'm seeing red
I got no idea where I'm going
Have no clue how to get there
But I can't wait to get there
There's a big road-a-comin'
I got my eyes on the open road
Goin' down anyway I can
From North Carolina to Birmingham
The engine is hot
And I'm trying my best not to overheat
Cause there's a big road-a-comin'
I got my eyes on the open road
Got my eyes on the road ahead
And I guess I best be trynna find a bed
Tomorrow is another day
And it ain't that far away
And there's a big road-a-comin'
GONNA GET BURNED
I've seen men come and go
And each one has a tale
How all the stars were lined up
How they thought they couldn't fail
But each fresh mistake
Is just another lesson learned
Cause if you play with fire boy
You're gonna get burned
Take it on the shoulder
It's just the price you have to pay
There is no time to waste
We're losin' the light of day
The streets are getting colder
There's nowhere left to turn
Cause when you play with fire boy
You're gonna get burned
EXILE
To those who put me in exile
Fire dances round in your lands
Poisoned minds, distorted smiles
My fate is in your hands
Tis in the words that I'm writing
What I thought about writing
What must be written
Pondering, inquiring
For a sign
But meanwhile all the time I curse
The bells for banging so loudly
"Shut Up!!! I'm waitin' for a sign!!!"
But the bells keep ringin'
And soon I was singin'
Right along to it's beat.
They rung through the street
And they refused to stop ringing
LYIN' TO YOURSELF
Some wear alligator shoes others dress up in lace
A couple of em even got scars across their face
They drift around aimlessly and get drunk in bars
Dyin' for easy women and the fastest cars
Lyin' to yourself
Go on and lie to yourself
They got voices in their head that are beginning to scream
"There's no way out of this fever dream"
The walls are caving in the ceiling falls on your shoes
You're livin' the high life yea you're paying your dues
Lyin' to yourself
Go on and lie to yourself
C'mon take a look around they're all starting to hang
Cause they don't like double-talking doin' the same ol thang
They'll push you to the edge and then knock you to your knees
Until your left to suffer with the Legionnaire's disease
Lyin' to yourself
Go on and lie to yourself
The owls fly at night while criminals will walk the streets
Out for petty kicks and try to give someone the beats
But ignorance is bliss they say addressing me and you
Well we must forgive them for they know not what they do
Lyin' to yourself
Go on and lie to yourself
OMAO
I was all alone startin' out all over again
Took over a year to get over the pain
Time refused to move and so did I
Layin' in the forest as my tears began to dry
(CHORUS)
Omao
Sing your melody for me
Omao
I couldn't help but wonder
Where he got that melody
And how he pulled it off
So effortlessly
It made me forget
What tomorrow might bring
I just laid there amazed
As he started to sing
REPEAT CHORUS
Now I've drifted far
Half way 'round the world
And whatdya know
Life once agains in a twirl
When I get kicked hard
And I find myself getting mad
I just remember his song
And things ain't that bad
REPEAT CHORUS
ANOTHER GREAT MISTAKE
If you were by my side
My heart would be at ease
Cause this livin' alone
Is killing my by degrees
My hands they start to shake
Oh Lord how much more can one man take
Just another great mistake
If I ran to you
Well would you take me in
Until my clothes were dry
Till you flash your wicked grin
And although the bond must break
Just how much more can one man take
Another great mistake
Many days have came and went
And I'm still alive
Many hours I've spent alone
Only now I'm revived
There's no more love to make
Nobody around to forsake
Waiting for the next great mistake
'CROSS THE LINE
Well I must say fare-thee-well
Because I can't tell
When and if we'll ever meet again
My heart it pains me so
And I want you to know
That if you ever need me just say when
I know that I won't forget
Any of the things I've left behind
I've spent too long with regret
I'll rest my eyes, 'cross the line
What could I say to you
To convince you that I'm true
And am longer bound by sin
I've had many sleepless nights
I've explored unseen sights
But without your love I just can't win
I know that you can't be there
But I'll dream of you all the while
So come rest your head unto me
I'll rest the line down by the sea
(unrecorded verse)
So tell me true can't you see
That you belong to me and I to you
Don't go roam for eternity
Our love is the light, let it shine through
